Parksville had a wind warning for most of the day today and lots of rain!!
After we closed the gallery we noticed how big the waves were in Parksville Bay so we went for a short walk along the boardwalk and watched in amazement the size of the waves coming in. It is unusual for us to have such big waves. We decided to go for a drive and check out some of the other beaches to see the action.
First stop was French Creek – and holy man the waves were huge and powerful! There were so many big logs flying in the water with the waves and hitting the rocks along the marina. There was even a guy trying to surf from the estuary – while a ambulance was parked close by watching him. We weren’t sure if they were just waiting for the surfer to get into trouble or what?!?!!
There were also guys fishing as the tide was really high.
